Barndoc provides an out of hours face to face GP service, either at one of our bases or at the patient's residence, depending on clinical need. In some cases providing GP telephone advice may be sufficient. Our service hours are between 6.30pm at night and 8.00am the following morning during weekdays and for 24 hours a day at weekends and Bank Holidays.
Our service covers patients who live in Barnet, Enfield and Haringey, who have urgent needs that cannot wait until their GP practice is next open.
The service is accessed through dialing 111. NHS 111 is a new service that makes it easier for you to access local NHS healthcare services. You can call 111 when you need medical help fast but it's not a 999 emergency. You can read more about NHS 111 here.
Barndoc does not provide the 111 service. NHS 111 is provided by one of our neighbouring healthcare service providers. Depending on where you live this will usually be either LCW, or PELC
All access to Barndoc services must be made via the NHS 111 provider. We cannot offer support or advice via email or on any of our other telephone numbers.
Barndoc is very proud to have been one of the first out of hours providers to be registered with the Care Quality Commission under the Health and Social Care Act 2008. This registration was without condition and shows Barndoc's continuing dedication to providing the best possible standards of patient care.
